Which ‘must-have hair tools’ are needed in your arsenal for fabulous hair?

Patience!

3 must-have hair tools

Yes, we all need to have this very important mental must-have hair tool.  Knowing how to take care of your hair is important; however, having and making the time to do so is just as important.

It might sound ridiculous, and I am sure, patience was not quite the ‘hair tool’ you had in mind, but yes, it is necessary. There are quite a few reasons why patience is a must-have. Read on.

3 good reasons why patience is a mental must-have hair tool:

  1. On average, it has been proven that your hair grows about 1/2 inch each month. Understand that when you trim or cut your hair, it will not grow any faster – this is just the way things work. A trim or a cut will indeed make your hair appear healthier, especially when you are getting rid of split ends and straggly-looking hair, however, it won’t ‘make your hair grow faster’ – only time and patience does that part.
  2. In taking care of your hair, being gentle, you need to have time to do the job! Rushing through your hair care will only result in frustration and disappointment. Like most things, scheduling time to take care of your hair is not a bad idea. In the long term, your hair will thank you by being beautiful.
  3.  You are what you eat! This is reflected in your hair, skin, and nails, and your whole body of course! As you choose to eat healthy, your hair will reflect the healthy choices. And of course, you have to give the dietary intake time to work its way into your system and then show up in healthy-looking hair. There is no other way: as in the old days the computer cliche – GIGO -garbage in, garbage out. You have to be mindful of your nutritional needs and choices because it eventually tells you what you have been doing.

So we are now armed with patience, then comes the other physical must-have hair tools which contribute to fabulous hair.

The silk wrap or satin hair cover

It has often been said that as your hair gets longer, it becomes more fragile, like silk. It is true. You need to treat your hair as if it were silk. It is important how you handle your hair. You need to be gentle and use the most gentle products for cleansing, conditioning, and moisturising. And after all that is said and done, then you have to protect it. Not just from the environment and its natural wear and tear, but also just daily living.

Hair can get caught in fabric – jacket or shirt collars, chair backs, sofas, towels, pillow cases, to name a few of the more common culprits. One way we can reduce the friction that makes your hair more prone to stress is to wear a silk wrap or satin hair cover whenever you get a chance.

The longest period where your hair comes in contact with fabric is when you sleep. You sleep on a pillow on maybe just the bed sheet, and more often than not, you are using cotton sheets and pillow cases. Ok, I am not sending you to go and buy expensively priced silk bed linens, but I will suggest your investing in a silk or satin hair wrap. Wrapping your hair with a Silk Night Cap before going off to bed, is one great way to protect your hair from 6-8 hours of friction while you sleep.

This not only protects your hair throughout your slumber but also keeps your hairstyle fresh for the next day.

Our next must-have hair tool is the:

Silk Scrunchy

I know that there are times when you don’t feel up to going all out in terms of hair styles, and the easiest style that still looks good anytime, is the traditional ponytail! You can accomplish this easy feat using a Silk Hair Scrunchie . It will be gentle on the hair and look stylish as well.
